Sandbach Round Table make fundraising donation for the installation of AED in Sandbach
Sandbach RoundTable were delighted to donate £360.00 to the National Citizen Service Programme, to help them achieve their fundraising target of £1794.00 so they could purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for the residents of Sandbach Town.
The NCS Programme have spent the last two weeks fundraising in the local area and have been duly rewarded for their efforts, with local businesses, friends and family, town visitors and the Round Table, all contributing to the fundraising goal.
Located at the Military Arms pub on Congleton Road, the AED will serve the town in cases of life-threatening cardiac arrhythmia’s (which lead to cardiac arrests). It is a device that gives a high energy shock to the heart (through the chest wall) and is an essential lifesaving step in the chain of survival.
AEDs really are lifesavers and are designed to be simple to use (audio and visual commands) in a case of emergency. The NCS Programme are looking to have the AED fully installed at the Military Arms on Wednesday 7th September.
**The NCS program works with 15 to 17-year-old students to develop life skills, who aim to give something back to local communities.
We think they’ve done a fantastic job fundraising for the AED and from all of us at Sandbach Round Table, we would like to offer our support where we can to any further charitable fundraising opportunities the NCS are involved in.
Well done guys!!
