Young thespians at a South Cheshire school have received a cash boost to their stage ambitions.

Sandbach School Theatre received the cheque for £500 from the town's Round Table at a special presentation ceremony last week.

The Theatre group is currently preparing its production of A
Midsummer Night's Dream, which will be performed at the Edinburgh Festival in August 06 and tour of schools in Hong Kong in October 06.

It will be accompanied by Greek Tales written by Andy Cargill, and specifically Oedipus at at Edinburgh, featuring a range of legends
brought to life through theatre techniques for the Hong Kong visit.

More than 80 participants are involved in the two ventures and the
group expressed its gratitude to the Round Table in helping it on the way to its £20,000 fund raising target.
